Mission Pacific Beach Resort โ€“ JDV ๐Ÿ–๏ธโœจ

Nestled in Oceanside in Southern California, this resort is about a 45โ€“50 minute drive south of Irvine. Itโ€™s a relatively small city (or town?) thatโ€™s easily walkable and perfect for a relaxed getaway. Right next door is its sister property, Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa โ€” both under the same ownership, making it super convenient for a multi-hotel stay experience! The hotel is incredibly generous to Globalists ๐Ÿ˜ โ€” I booked just one day in advance, and on the day of arrival, they texted me asking if Iโ€™d like a suite. Ended up with the Sanctuary Studio Ocean View! ๐ŸŒ… Only after checkout did I realize there was a welcome email in my junk folder โ€” theyโ€™d asked if I wanted to switch my double bed to a King (since their suites only come with King size). Had I seen it, I mightโ€™ve scored an ocean-front balcony facing the Pacific directly! ๐ŸŒŠ The room felt warm and inviting โ€” light wood tones, soft lighting, a bathtub, and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a balcony where I could enjoy sunset views with the sound of waves. So peaceful and cozy~ ๐Ÿ˜Œ Though fair warning: visibility can be pretty low on summer mornings (Juneโ€“July) due to marine layer. Across from the balcony was the rooftop open-air bar ๐Ÿธ โ€” there was always some music playing, but things quieted down completely by bedtime. Breakfast was popular โ€” you even had to text ahead to reserve a slot! You could choose between buffet ($49) or ร  la carte. As a Globalist, the front desk mentioned a 45 credit per person (details were a bit fuzzy ๐Ÿฅฒ), but in the end, they waived our full bill of 150! ๐Ÿ™Œ The buffet variety could easily beat 95% of U.S. hotel breakfasts โ€” and everything tasted great, too! All in all, a perfect spot for a weekend staycation to unwind and recharge~ ๐ŸŒด Have you stayed at Mission Pacific or visited Oceanside? Whatโ€™s your favorite beachfront hotel in SoCal?
