MIT: A Place You’ll Love at First Sight 💙✨
Even before setting foot on campus, my admiration for MIT was already growing! 😄 On the flight, a reader of Guyu Planet recognized me and, upon hearing MIT was part of our itinerary, cheerfully mentioned she was a student there—offering help anytime. (We later enjoyed Boston lobster together! 🦞✌️) 🎓 Stepping into MIT, the iconic Great Dome immediately caught our eyes. The kids rushed excitedly for photos, but I was drawn to the uniquely intriguing architecture around campus. 🏠 The tallest building, Green Building, isn’t green in color—it’s named after donor Cecil Green. Shaped like a vertical train cart 🚄, it stands beside a horizontal “matchbox” structure and a rare 30-degree sharp-angle building—all designed by alumni I.M. Pei as gifts to his alma mater. These structures embrace a raw, minimalist concrete style—exposed surfaces, honest and bold. The kids joked, “It’s like a scruffy ‘tech guy’—so MIT!” ❤️+1. The viral Stata Center looks delightfully crooked from the outside but stands strong 🏗️; inside, you won’t find a single conventional space. MIT’s motto, “Mens et Manus” (Mind and Hand), is engraved everywhere 🧠✋. Even bike parking zones come with air pumps and full repair toolkits—so MIT! ❤️+2. We were also lucky to have an exclusive talk with Professor T from MIT. She openly shared her experience of sending 20 resumes a day for three months with no response—emphasizing how crucial it is to find a university with culture fit 🌟. Fun fact: The MIT Press Bookstore is located at 314 Main Street—and regular decision results are released every year on Pi Day (March 14). Typical detail-obsessed MIT! 🥧📚 #InternationalEducation #MIT #CampusDiaries #StudyAbroadGoals #DreamSchool #TechMeetsCreativity #ArchitectureLovers #StudentLife 🚀🎓
