Montreal & Quebec City Food Diary
1️⃣ MOVADIE (French Fine Dining) 📍 1 Rue Saint-Paul O, Montréal Foie Gras: The best I’ve had this trip—rich, buttery, paired with a sweet glaze. Lamb Chops (Medium): Tender inside, but the sear was slightly bitter (common in French cooking?). Duck Confit: Served with waffles (instead of spinach). Skip the jam—the duck shines solo! Escargots: Cheesy, lemony, with perfectly bouncy snails. 💰 $180 CAD for 4 dishes (generous portions!). 2️⃣ Ferreira Café (Portuguese Seafood) 📍 1446 Rue Peel, Montréal Grilled Sardines: Fresh, delicate, no fishiness. Octopus: Thick, smoky, zero chewiness. Seafood Rice: A massive pot (shared for two)—packed with clams, shrimp, and mussels. 🍷 Happy accident after missing Iberica! 3️⃣ Cochon Dingue (Quebec’s “Crazy Pig” Chain) 📍 1014 Rue Saint-Jean, Québec Pea Soup: Loaded with ham & beans—hearty & flavorful. Pork Ribs: Go regular size (unless you’re starving!). Salmon Tartare: Just okay—not a must-order. ⚠️ Portions are huge—split mains! 4️⃣ La Buche (Quirky Quebecois Cuisine) 📍 49 Rue Saint-Louis, Québec Pig “Wings”: Like pork chops, but smaller & tangier. Foie Gras: Less impressive than MOVADIE’s, but the sweet brioche underneath saved it. Venison Tartare: Raw deer meat—adventurous eaters only! 🦌 RIP rabbit wings (blamed on "no more rabbits"). #MontrealEats #QuebecFoodie #SeafoodLover #FrenchCuisine
