MoS | DTLA's Italian Dream 🏛️✨
Memoirs of Stays - Hotel Chronicles - The City of Los Angeles has initiated numerous renovation projects for historic downtown buildings, and this Marriott Autograph Collection hotel is a prime example—reviving an Italian-era dream with California vibes! 🌞 Hotel Per La is located within the former Italian Bank headquarters, the Giannini Building, preserving the original Neoclassical features while incorporating modern design. Soaring ceilings and spotless glass windows bathe the common areas in California sunlight, which dances joyfully with the lush indoor greenery. 🌿🎨 The hotel displays over 4,000 artworks collected from Italy and California, showcasing DTLA’s inclusivity and creativity. As a Platinum member, I was warmly upgraded to the Olive Suite—a generous touch of hospitality! The 40-square-meter room cleverly includes a separate living area, bedroom, and bathroom. While there’s no bathtub, the well-proportioned layout feels spacious and harmonious. The "New Traditionalism" style blends classical architectural details with contemporary energy, creating a vibe that’s both elegant and fresh. 🛋️🌿 Ristorante Per L’Ora, set in a bright common area, serves dishes that fuse California freshness with Italian flavors. Members receive breakfast credits for à la carte ordering. The classic eggs, sausage, potatoes, and toast combo wins points for presentation and taste! 🍳☕ Breakfast is served until noon—perfect for a lazy brunch. Located in DTLA, it’s convenient for exploring downtown attractions—but do note the area can be less safe at night. The rooftop pool offers a sweet escape from city noise and a unique aerial perspective of the downtown skyline. 🏊♀️🌆 Have you ever stayed in a historic hotel that blends classic and modern styles?
