MSSM Right Downstairs from Home

🍧I had friends recommend this omakase place with a cyberpunk decor style before, and today I finally came with a good friend. It's really different from traditional omakase. They start you off with a hand roll to tide you over. 🍧The music playing during the meal might be a bit loud for those who prefer a quiet dining experience, but I actually liked it. In this enclosed setting where people are sitting close together, conversations can lack privacy. But with the music, you can mostly only hear the person you're talking to. 🍧We all agreed that the best dish was the grilled eel. The best part was that we didn't take a photo because the rice was too loosely packed and fell apart quickly. The downside is that the rice balls were really loosely packed... and the chawanmushi was really salty... 🍧The calorie intake for the whole meal is around 850-1050, which is quite friendly for those on a diet! The sushi was, as always, delicious and quite impressive at this price point. They used wild bluefin tuna and even kinmedai. The kinmedai roll was really good, with distinct layers. The starfish eel was a pleasant surprise! If you're used to kabayaki eel, this version really highlights the natural flavor and stickiness of the eel. #TorontoLife #TorontoDining #TorontoFood #Omakase #TorontoEats
