Museum Check-In | Berlin Spy Museum π΅οΈββοΈπ³π
ππ§πΉοΈπ½οΈβοΈ A niche and intriguing museum. The admission ticket is quite pricey, and it felt like my heart was bleeding when I swiped my card. I was starting to regret it, but the more I explored, the more interesting it became. Starting from the origins of cryptography in ancient Egypt and Rome, to Sun Tzu's Art of War, Leonardo da Vinci's cipher drum, all the way to the original Enigma machine from World War II Germany, and numerous spy devices from the Cold War era involving East and West Germany, as well as the US and the Soviet Union. In addition to the exhibits, the museum features many interactive installations. The most fun one is the laser-based game where you can choose the difficulty level, and you can input game videos as a souvenir for visitors (I chose the hard mode and failed on the last few steps...). When showcasing the history of famous double agents, Other fun interactive installations include simulating the use of anti-eavesdropping devices to scan a room, transmitting intelligence with different encryption methods with other visitors, experiencing sending Morse code with a telegraph machine, and trying out a polygraph. There's also an entire wall dedicated to a world map, marked with the names, functions, and logos of spy agencies from countries around the world... ππ¦ In short, it's very interesting. If you have enough time while traveling in Berlin, I recommend experiencing it (if time is tight, just rush to Museum Island! Remember to book in advance!) #BerlinTravel #BerlinSpyMuseum #NicheMuseum #CambridgeFive #EnigmaMachine #Turing
