✅While wandering around College Hill, I stumbled upon this super distinctive orange wooden house! ✅Not only is it one of the best-preserved colonial homes in Providence, but it was also the residence of Stephen Hopkins — one of Rhode Island’s most famous founding fathers, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a former governor of the state! ✨ 💗Unlike the Georgian-style buildings of Brown University, this orange wooden house has a simple yet warm charm. 💗While it may look modest on the outside, the interior is packed with historical details! 💟The guides tell Hopkins’ story in such a lively way — like how he represented Rhode Island at the Continental Congress and signed the Declaration (legend says his hand shook so much he joked, “My hand trembles, but my heart does not” 😭). 💟My favorite part was the study, which still has the original quill and desk — it feels like you can almost sense the political energy from centuries ago. #Providence #HistoricHome #RhodeIslandTravel
