Must-Try Mexican Home Cooking in Stockyards
🥡If you’re visiting Stockyards in the DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) area and looking for something beyond the local BBQ, you should definitely try this highly recommended Mexican home cooking spot, which is very close to the main district and certified by locals as the best in the FW area for fajitas and Mexican homestyle dishes. 🔆Fajitas They offer beef and chicken fajitas, and you can also add grilled shrimp as a side. The photo shows a two-person beef fajita order, which came with a generous amount of very tender meat. When the sizzling iron plate arrived, it reminded me of the old-school iron-plate steak restaurants back home. The sides include refried beans, salsa, and tortillas, but no rice (you might need to order rice separately). 😍Signature Dishes Apart from the fajitas, the restaurant has two standout features. First, the salsa served with tortilla chips looks ordinary but is incredibly spicy and super satisfying—definitely a must-try for those who love spicy food! Second, their shrimp is exceptionally fresh and tender. We ordered cocktail shrimp and grilled shrimp as sides, and both were fantastic. The cocktail shrimp (photo 2) has a tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy flavor, with fresh avocado that’s very refreshing and palate-cleansing. The grilled shrimp can be ordered as a side or a main dish; it’s perfectly charred and incredibly tender, leaving a lasting impression. 🕗Atmosphere and Taste The restaurant is mostly frequented by Mexican families, and the food is top-notch. The seasoning is not overly salty (except for the grilled shrimp), which is more in line with Chinese taste preferences (many mainstream Tex-Mex places are too salty and can be overwhelming). If you’re in Stockyards and want to switch up your diet from BBQ, this is a great option. 🕗Restaurant Details: Name: Los Asaderos Address: 1535 N Main St, Fort Worth, TX 76164 Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces behind the building. #Stockyards #USALife #Foodie #TodayIEat #FoodReview
