My favorite church in Florence
Santa Croce Basilica . It is not the most beautiful, nor the most popular, but it is where you can truly feel the brilliance of humanity's great minds.❤️❤️❤️ Here rest Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, Rossini, and the cenotaph of Raphael. The ending of Romain Rolland's "The Life of Michelangelo" is truly inspiring:😍😍😍 "The great soul is like a high mountain. The winds and storms buffet it, and clouds envelop it, but people breathe more freely and strongly there than elsewhere. The pure atmosphere can cleanse the dross from the soul, and when the clouds disperse, it looms over humanity.😻😻😻 It is such a towering peak that stands in Renaissance Italy, where we see its steep silhouette disappearing into the boundless blue sky from afar.🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️ I do not say that ordinary people can live on the peak. But once a year they should go up to pay homage. There, they can change the breath in their lungs and the flow in their veins. There, they will feel closer to eternity. Afterwards, they return to the vast plain of life, filled with the courage for the daily battle." #Michelangelo #RomainRolland #Italy #Florence #FuLei #Biography
