My Favorite Place in Kansai: Uji (1) π΅
On my second trip to Kansai, I fell in love with Uji after being charmed by Kyoto. πΏπ Uji is a very peaceful and cozy little city. πΈπThe moment you step off the JR train, you're greeted by a sense of relaxation. Strolling along the Uji River or just sitting and daydreaming is incredibly leisurely and refreshing. π πΏπ Hereβs my 3-hour itinerary for visiting the main spots in Uji without retracing your steps π: πΈπ11:30 a.m. β 12:00 p.m. Take the JR from Kyoto Station to Uji Station (only a 30-minute ride). 12:00 p.m. β 1:00 p.m. Uji Bridge + Uji River (Follow Uji Bridge to the matcha-lined street with lots of unique shops. πΏπ Spend 20 minutes walking along the river. If you get tired, just sit down and daydreamβitβs so relaxing!) πΈπ1:00 p.m. β 1:30 p.m. Byodoin (On a nice day, Byodoin is really picturesque. Itβs said to be the inspiration for the 10-yen coin design.) πΏπ 1:30 p.m. β 1:45 p.m. Uji Shrine (Uji Shrine is small and can be toured in just 10 minutes. πΈπYou can buy omamori (protective amulets) here, which are cheaper than those at larger shrines.) #Kyoto πΏπ
