My first French dining experience in LA left me utterly amazed! 🍽️✨
I’ve been in LA for two years now, and I’ve tried Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai cuisine, but somehow I’ve never tried French food here! I had it once in Boston, but this place in DTLA truly blew that experience out of the water! 🎉 We ordered the tasting menu because every dish was something we wanted to try. 🎃🦆 48 hours!! Duck Leg Confit Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with pumpkin puree and roasted pumpkin. The garnish looked like caviar but was sweet and not fishy at all—I loved it! 🦆 🫕🧅 Onion and Shallot Soup The version I had in Boston was tangy, but this one was sweet, topped with a thick layer of cheese and filled with onions and soaked bread. It was absolutely delicious! 🥄 💚🐌 Traditional Burgundy Snails In Boston, I had a bad experience with escargot because my friend couldn’t handle it, and it kind of put me off. I planned to skip it this time, but when it arrived, it looked so tempting that I couldn’t resist. The green sauce was perfectly flavored, and it was quite nice! 🐌 🍷🥩 48 hours!! Beef Bourguignon There was a hint of red wine, and while it wasn’t mind-blowing, the slightly tangy flavor was good. They provided bread for dipping in the sauce, which was a nice touch. 🍖 😈🥚 Oeufs Mimosa (Deviled Egg) I ordered this separately, topped with truffle mayonnaise. It was a great addition! 🥚 🧡🍮 Vanilla Crème Brûlée The crispy caramel shell with the smooth, rich vanilla custard inside is a classic French dessert. The sweetness was just right, though the cream might feel a bit heavy if you eat too much. 🍼 🍫🍦 Profiteroles 72% dark chocolate (a bit too bitter for my taste) paired with vanilla ice cream in a choux pastry. 🍫 The ambiance was incredibly romantic, with candlelight adding to the perfect atmosphere! ✨ The average cost per person is $50-$100, making it ideal for dates or special occasions! 💕 Restaurant Name: L'APPART by AIR FOOD 📅 Open Wednesday-Sunday; 4-6 PM is Happy Hour. Closed Monday and Tuesday. 🃏 Every Wednesday from 8-10 PM, they have a jazz night! #HiddenGems #LifeInNorthAmerica #DateNightSpots #LosAngeles #LAFoodie #FrenchCuisine #DTLA #RestaurantHopping #ExploreLA
