My travel diary--Kandy trip
🌲 Royal Botanic Gardens One of the top ten botanical gardens in the world, the Sri Lankan Royal Botanic Gardens has a history of 200 years, and many international dignitaries have planted trees here. Opinions online vary, but I personally think it's quite nice, especially on a sunny day which is great for taking pictures. The entrance fee is 3000 Sri Lankan Rupees . Most areas are shaded by trees, and it's comfortable to take a slow 1-hour walk and take photos. The location of the tree planted by Premier Zhou and his wife . 🍌Banana Chill Restaurant Most people who come for a day trip to Kandy arrive early in the morning from other cities. After visiting the botanical garden, it's lunchtime. If you don't want Chinese or Western food and are not accustomed to local cuisine, and you're tired and thirsty from the garden and want something refreshing, highly recommend this restaurant ranked first on TripAdvisor. 🍽️I ordered a summer bowl and avocado toast, both of which were great! The drinks are average, so they are optional (PS: Remember, the chocolate ice cream at the convenience store by the botanical garden entrance is very tasty). Two meals and two drinks cost 4550 Sri Lankan Rupees - highly recommended! 🛕Temple of the Tooth ✨The site of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. The entrance fee is 2000 Sri Lankan Rupees per person. Shoes are not allowed, so you must store your shoes at the counter before buying a ticket. 🌈 It's advised to prepare a pair of inexpensive socks; if it rains, the ground will be wet, and you can throw away the socks after wearing shoes, as there's no place to wash your feet. The true relic is not visible and is stored in the lower left corner . 🌟 There are 21 paintings in the temple that tell the nearly thousand-year history of the relic's wandering. It's best to have a guide; if not, read the text explanations carefully to feel the weight of history. 🌊 Kandy Lake/Viewing Platform The two photos below were taken in just 100 meters from the Temple of the Tooth to the parking lot, no need to check in specially. The viewing platform is essentially a photo spot; it's a 5-minute drive, and you can take a photo in 30 seconds after getting off 🏨 Earl's Regent Kandy Hotel A heritage series hotel, the check-in process, while not offering a towel like at Kandalama Heritage Hotel, provides a better welcome drink (upper right of P8, recommend choosing mango mix juice and yogurt juice). The most impressive thing about the hotel is the view from this balcony, overlooking the entire hotel and facing the mountains to watch the burning clouds, and this was taken on a rainy day #Temple of the Tooth #Earl's Regent Kandy Hotel # Kandy Lake#Royal Botanic Gardens#Banana Chill Restaurant #kandy#Sri lanka #travel life
