Nagarkot Himalayan Viewpoint
Most tourists coming to Nepal probably hope to catch a glimpse of the Himalayan mountain range, right?👀👀 🌋If you’re looking for the closest spot to Kathmandu with the best views—where you can see the mountains without strenuous hiking—Nagarkot is the place. It’s known as the "Himalayan Viewpoint"!🗾 🚕 First, getting to Nagarkot:🗼 🌤️1. It’s only about 30km from central Kathmandu, but public transport isn’t convenient, so ride-hailing is the top choice. Since hotels usually only start check-in at 14:00, you can consider a morning detour to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. ❄️❄️ From Thamel, we took an inDrive to Bhaktapur for 900 Nepali rupees—no issues at all. From Bhaktapur to our hotel, we tried inDrive a few times; the app showed 1000 rupees, but no drivers accepted. ⚡⚡ 🌟🌟In the end, we walked to Nagarkot Tourist Bus Park, where several waiting drivers quoted 1500 rupees. We bargained down to 1200. Total: 2100 rupees. 🌈🌈2. Getting back to the city from the hotel is trickier. Hotel car services to the city are pricey; they can also drop you at a roadside bus stop, but that’s time-consuming.⏯️ 😛We tried inDrive again—the app showed 2000 rupees, but the driver called asking for 3200. We settled on 2500.👉👈 🏠 Next, choosing the right hotel: The main reason to visit Nagarkot is to see the mountains, so a hotel’s view is the top priority, followed by comfort. 🍐🎼 After checking some recommendations, we picked "Mystic Mountain Resort." 🥳 🦋It turned out to be excellent—great viewing location, room amenities, food quality, and service. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute there. 🗓️ We stayed only one night, so we couldn’t miss the Himalayan sunrise. From the moment we booked, we prayed for good weather—nature is unpredictable, and it all comes down to luck.🐟🐟 Also, forget sleeping in: sunrise is before 6:00, so we were on the balcony by 5:30. This is where the hotel and room really shined: we had a spacious private balcony with tables and chairs—top-notch conditions.🕊️ 👀 The sky gradually brightened. Mountain peaks like Mount Everest were lit up one by one, like flames, until the entire range floated in the air—so close they seemed touchable, yet ethereal like a castle in the clouds. 🐾 🍉Nearby, clouds swirled in the valleys, and the rising sun chased away the night’s chill. Everything felt magical. You have to visit Nepal once. You have to see Everest once.🌳🌳 #Nepal#Kathmandu#Nagarkot#TravelGuide
