Their momos were really good and so was the fries (batata frita) , nachos were okay for the price and we enjoyed the food but what ruined our time there was just a small but intense phrase that came from the server that served our table. Apparently the restaurant is owned by Nepalese and Portuguese partners and had fusion of different cuisines, which is why we chose to have lunch there because we wanted to eat something that tastes like our home food too(it did and yes we LOVED the food). The moment we sat down the table, before even handing us the menu, the server/waiter who was a Nepalese himself told us something like “before you begin I want to tell you our price range for the foods are a bit higher so you might wanna consider before your see the menu because it’s somewhat pricy” in our language since he knew we were Nepalese too. All 4 us were like where is it coming from and we couldn’t even respond to it for about a minute because it was totally unexpected and really disappointing. Is it normal to be prejudice about your customer here or what?! Were we supposed to wear a Prada T-shirt or Rolex watch to make him believe we could afford to eat there?! One of us just politely told him that we have ordered through Uber eats several times from there so we are familiar with the prices. May be some of their customers had said/hinted the foods being overly priced but we believe that had nothing to do with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and liked the ambience but he ruined our mood and we all were kinda hurt deep down and couldn’t...
Read moreThe night of 24th, we arrived late in Porto so we decided to order some Asian food as my friend and I are familiar with the taste. As you can see from UberEats, we ordered the Pad Thai with shrimps, Pad Kra Pao and Green onion chickens. The same night we finished eating, I started to feel discomfort in my stomach and I threw up at 2am, then again and again a few times(I’m sorry if the photo bothered you but I want to warn everyone). My friend had diarrhea more times than she could count till the next day. We had to cancel our wine tour the next day, not to mention the cost, but also wasted time waiting in emergency to be seen by doctor for prescription. The whole day of 25th we could only rest. I contacted UberEats the same night, they refunded me and said the restaurant will be in touch with me soon, yet till today 26th we did not receive any message from the restaurant. You may ask, why are we so sure it’s from this restaurant? Well we did not consume any food or beverage 8 hours before this take out delivered, the last meal we had before this was a delicious tapas in Lisbon, then we took the bus. Also my threw up content can prove it. To be fair, in all the Thai food I tried before this is ok, not delicious but at least ok, the sauce in Pad Thai was weird but I thought maybe it’s the local taste, but now I realize maybe that’s what caused the food poisoning. I hope the restaurant takes this case seriously and check all your...
Read moreI went there on two occasions with friends and family. The location is superb, right in the middle of downtown Porto and close to everything. The ambience is relaxed, with low lightening and lots of space between the tables that actually allows you to listen to the people you're with and not feel cramped like in most restaurants on that area (it also has one awesome mural in the bathroom, of all places, they certainly didn't miss any detail in crafting a great space). The Asian food feels very authentic, with great balance in the flavors and personally I loved the chicken pad Thai. The American food is awesome too and surprising because some of the burgers have very unusual ingredient combinations that oddly work great together. The dessert cheesecake is just to die for, so rich and velvety with an oreo crust. The portions are very generous but you definitely need to keep a little space to try the cheesecake! It also has a cocktail bar and an open kitchen which is wonderful because you can see your food been prepared on the spot. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a place to go more than once, eat great...
