Napier’s Super Windy Trail – Bell Rock 🪨
This trail sits right between Napier and Gisborne, and at the top, there’s a huge rock that looks just like a bell! The view here is so unique—I totally think it’s worth a visit! 😍 It’s a pretty easy trail overall: less than 8km long, with a total elevation gain of 352m. Check out the AllTrails screenshot for all the details 🎉! You probably won’t need hiking poles, but the last stretch before the summit is a bit tiring—up a hill, then down, then up again! (The final part was slightly muddy, but after hiking Mount Pirongia, this mud felt like nothing… piece of cake! 😇) The view from the top is *chef’s kiss*—you can definitely snap “life’s best photos” here 👌🏻! The big rock on the far left is climbable, but WARNING : it’s a bit risky! There’s a cliff right below it, and the wind at the summit is CRAZY strong 🤯! My pants got blown into a little “bread bun” shape, and even my Live Photos had weird wiggles from the wind 🫨🫨. I could barely stand still, and once you climb onto the rock, the wind gets even stronger. If you’re on the slimmer side, be extra careful—you might actually get blown off! 😱 Quick tips for you: ❌ Don’t wear hats without a chin strap—they’ll fly away in a second! ❌ Don’t let your hair down—you’ll end up looking like a messy wind monster! ✅ Overall, 10/10 recommend this trail! Go for it if you get the chance ⛰️🪨 #HikingTheWorld #AucklandHiking #Napier #TeacherEsHikingDiary
