ps. Exhibitions in Japan are simply next level. π The exhibitions are very comprehensive, featuring not only detailed catalogs but also comic versions for kids, available in Japanese, English, and Chinese. πΈπ There's no need to worry about not understanding, although even when you do understand, it feels like you still haven't grasped everything. πΈπAfter the Kukai exhibition, there was also a Buddhist statue exhibition that specifically introduced how to distinguish between the images and functions of Buddhas, bodhisattvas, devas, and wrathful deities. It's worth writing a separate educational post about. π§ββοΈ 2οΈβ£ Nara Park From Kintetsu Nara Station to the National Museum, the entire area in between is Nara Park. πΈπ It's an open space where you can see herds of deer roaming freely without any fences. Whether they'll cooperate for your photos depends on their mood (pro tip: Deer biscuits are 200 JPY per pack). π¦ 3οΈβ£ Todai-ji Temple The largest wooden structure in the world, housing the largest bronze Buddha statue globally. Admission requires a ticket. πΈπ The crowds were overwhelming; even the ticket line in the afternoon was 20-30 meters long, so I decided to skip it and just took a look from the entrance. π #Nara πΏ
