Navarra, Spain | Bardenas Reales Natural Park

🌟 The spot where “Dragon Mom” was captured by the Dothraki tribe in Season 6. The intense desert vibe closely mirrors the depiction of Essos and its warrior nomadic people in the original books. In reality, this setting was filmed in the Bardenas Reales National Park near Tudela in northeastern Spain, which is considered one of the most breathtaking locations for “Game of Thrones,” with a splendor that resembles another planet. In real life, many Spaniards come to the natural park for hiking and off-road adventures. Bardenas Reales Natural Park spans an area of 42,400 hectares, with wide, flat grasslands and semi-desert landscapes made up of numerous pebbles and rocky mountains, brimming with primitive wild beauty. 🌟 There are several hiking trails (about 20 kilometers each), and you can also bike. One of the trails is even accessible by car. There are no shops or restaurants in the area, so make sure to bring your own water and food. There’s a mirador where you can see the entire panorama, located near the information center. 🌟 It’s a 3.5-hour drive from Barcelona, and we stayed at the Nomading Camp Navarra, which is about an hour’s drive away, as documented in another post. #OutdoorHiking #HikingTrailRecommendations #SpainTravel #SpainLife #BarcelonaDayTrips #Desert #Spring
