NeurIPS San Diego Food Log 🍝

Just flew over four hours to San Diego and was starving 😵! After checking in at the hotel, I immediately set out to find a place to eat. Today, I’m sharing a fantastic Italian restaurant to save fellow NeurIPS attendees who are too busy with academics to think about food! Tonight, I went with three friends to Vinarius Wine Bar & Restaurant, rated 4.9 stars 🌟! It’s located near downtown San Diego, about 1 mile from the conference venue—an easy walk. The atmosphere caught my attention as soon as we entered—a cozy wine bar style with soft lighting and a relaxed, comfortable vibe ✨. The servers were very friendly and attentive, making the experience wonderful! We ordered seafood pasta 🍝 and roasted pork pizza 🍕. The seafood pasta was amazing! The sauce was light and didn’t overpower the freshness of the seafood. The lobster was perfectly seared—firm and tender—and all the seafood tasted very fresh 😋. The roasted pork pizza had a crispy crust and rich cheese 🧀, though the meat was a bit salty for my taste. (Psst: this pizza is a hidden menu item! You have to ask the server for it~) With an 18% tip and tax, it came to about $80 per person 💵, which is pretty reasonable for San Diego. In summary: If you’re attending NeurIPS and looking for a comfortable dinner spot, this place is highly recommended! Great atmosphere, excellent service, and thoughtfully prepared food 👍! #NeurIPS2025 #SanDiegoEats #ConferenceLife #ItalianRestaurant #FoodDiary #HiddenMenu #TravelAndFood
