New BBQ Food Truck! ChuanUp BBQ ๐
It took about 40-50 minutes to drive there ๐ . It might be okay outside of rush hour, but during peak times, the distance felt really long ๐๐จ. There are many different food trucks and plenty of seating in the pod. However, since it was raining, we took the kids and hid inside their attached bar area ๐ป. It's child-friendly, which was convenient for us ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ. We basically ordered one of almost every skewer on the menu! When ordering, we specifically told them our friend would arrive in half an hour, hoping they could delay the cooking a bit. But it still took about 45 minutes for everything to be ready ๐ขโณ. The shrimp were okay, pretty fresh ๐ฆ. The chicken skewers were also not bad, and for $7.99 you get ten skewers! Pretty good deal ๐. However, the lamb and beef were just average, not particularly flavorful. The leeks were a bit tough and hard to chew ๐. Their overall flavor profile leans sweet. Since I don't really like spicy food, we got the lowest spice level, which was just right for me ๐. Surprisingly, the churros were pretty good! Without adding any sauce, they weren't too sweet and were nice and crispy ๐ฅจ. โ๏ธSomething to note is that there didn't seem to be many drink options. โ๏ธParking is street parking. โ๏ธIt's a bit of a pity they only open until 8 PM, which feels quite early for a BBQ place ๐. โจIn summary: The taste was acceptable, but considering the long drive there and back, it didn't feel worth it. We'll probably just stick to going to "You Jian BBQ," where the atmosphere is more comfortable, and they have my beloved Mighty Grape tea ๐๐ง. The cost was about $30 per person ๐ต. ๐ ChuanUp BBQ 4250 SW Rose Biggi Ave, Beaverton, OR 97005 #Portland #Oregon #PortlandFood #OregonFood #BBQ
