New LA Spot: 15% Off & Giant $8.99 Sweet Rice Balls!

Over the weekend, my family and I were exploring the San Gabriel Valley and stumbled upon a soft-opening restaurant on Alhambra’s Main Street. We decided to give it a try! The space used to be a roast meats shop, but now it’s been refreshed into a homestyle Chinese restaurant. During the soft opening, they’re offering 15% off! We ordered a few of their signature dishes. Dry Pot Tea Tree Mushrooms: This dish was packed with mushrooms! Stir-fried with pork belly and garlic leaves, it arrived sizzling and stayed hot throughout the meal. The pork belly was crispy and fragrant, and the mushrooms soaked up all the delicious flavors—highly recommend! 🍄🔥 Tomato Tofu Skin & Beef Hot Pot: Served in a clay pot, it stayed piping hot. I expected the usual layer of bean sprouts or enoki mushrooms underneath, but this pot was filled with tender beef slices, plus tofu skin and tomatoes in a tangy-sweet broth. My kids loved it! 🍅❤️ Spicy Beef Short Ribs: I ordered the mild version, and it was full of flavor—savory, spicy, and perfect with rice. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, just like the dry pot beef I used to have back in China. 🍖 Seafood Fried Rice: Loaded with scallops, squid, and shrimp, the rice was fragrant and well-seasoned—a solid choice! 🍤 Sweet Fermented Rice Balls: This deserves a special mention—only $8.99 for a huge bowl! I expected a small portion, but it was enough to share among several people. The mini rice balls were adorable, floating in a sweet soup with egg ribbons and a sprinkle of osmanthus flowers. Such a great deal! 🍡🌸 Overall, the portions here are generous, prices are reasonable, and the staff were incredibly polite. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
