๐ต New Mexico Food Hits & Misses | So Many Surprises!
Just got back from a spring break trip to New Mexico โ hereโs my food recap! Albuquerque โ Monica's El Portal A traditional Mexican spot loved by locals. The owner is a sweet grandma! My boyfriend enjoyed it, but Mexican food isnโt really my thing. Still, worth a try if youโre into authentic flavors. โ Sawmill Market A food hall with tons of options! Highlights: Roast chicken โ huge portion, well-seasoned Burger โ made with fresh steak patty Pancakes โ fluffy and delicious in various flavors ๐ซ Skip the pho and sushi here. โ Ten 3 ๐ At the top of Sandia Peak โ requires reservation & tram ticket! Perfect for sunset dinners with stunning views. Steak โ surprisingly amazing Grilled oysters โ fresh and flavorful Portions are huge โ come hungry! Santa Fe โ La Boca Popular Spanish tapas spot! Must-tries: Mussels with bread โ soaky and delicious Creamy mushroom dish โ rich and comforting Paella โ a bit salty, but the rice texture was great โ La Plazuela At La Fonda Located in a hotel โ open to all! Beautiful setting. Corn soup โ absolutely loved it Beef tacos โ flavorful and tender โ Lotus Dumpling House A hidden gem! Their beef green chile pan-fried dumplings are UNREAL โ juicy, slightly spicy, and uniquely New Mexican. Also loved the fish & cilantro wonton soup โ so fresh! โ Tomasita's Santa Fe Recommended by a local cop! Expect a 40-min wait at peak times. Free sopapillas with honey butter โ THE BEST THING EVER ๐ฏ๐คค Authentic, affordable, and packed with locals โ Dumpling Tea Avoid! Their beef noodle soup, curry chicken noodles, and pork buns were all disappointments. โ Izanami Restaurant Inside Ten Thousand Waves Spa โ overpriced and underwhelming. Not worth it! Taos โ ACEQ Restaurant A gem in a small town! Busy but worth it. Pasta โ tasty but small portion Burger โ juicy and well-made Bone marrow โ rich and aromatic Berry cheesecake โ THE BEST Iโve had in the US! Not baked, more like a mousse, and perfectly sweet. Loved it! ๐ฐโค๏ธ New Mexico surprised me with its unique flavors and hidden culinary treasures!
