New Orleans: No-Brain Copy-Paste Travel Guide

Worried about planning a trip to New Orleans? This "split-or-combine" guide is ready for you to copy directly! Except for the first item which must be a package, the rest can be adjusted flexibly according to your preferences—easy and efficient~ 1. Oak Alley Plantation + Manchac Swamp One-Day Tour (Non-Splittable!) This time I chose Grayline Tours, and the overall experience was satisfying—there are also many similar travel agencies to choose from~ ✅ Two travel options: Group tour: About 7 hours in total, with guide explanations + all-inclusive transportation, perfect for lazy travelers; Self-driving: If someone in your group has a driver's license, renting a car for a self-guided tour is more flexible. It can save about $60 per person and take less time. 🌳 Oak Alley Plantation: It not only has a century-old historical story but also is great for taking photos! The oak arcade and retro mansion under the sun can easily create the atmosphere of Gone with the Wind 📸. Wearing a light-colored dress will make you look better in photos~ 🌿 Manchac Swamp: Taking a boat tour to find alligators is super exciting! The captain will feed small animals, and if you're lucky, you can hold a baby alligator. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and do a good job of sun protection~ 2. Audubon Aquarium & Insectarium + Shopping + Food + Jazz Night (Splittable) Morning: Leisurely Exhibition + Shopping 🐜 Audubon Aquarium & Insectarium: 1-1.5 hours is enough to visit. The exhibits are not particularly many, but the venue is new and the route is reasonable. It's a good choice for those with kids or who like niche exhibitions~ 🛍️ Riverwalk Outlets is right next door: Go shopping after the exhibition. Don't miss it if you want to buy sneakers and clothes—there are great discounts! Noon: A Stroll in Garden District 🌺 Garden District: The street is full of colorful old houses and exquisite courtyards. It's very comfortable to walk around casually, and it's suitable for taking retro-style photos. If you're tired, find a coffee shop to rest~ Afternoon: Check in at French Quarter 🛒 French Market: Wander around local handcrafts and snacks, feel the market atmosphere, and you can find many unique small items; 🏛️ Jackson Square: The square has a great atmosphere. Next to it is St. Louis Cathedral, which is perfect for taking photos of buildings and watching street performers~ Evening: Jazz Night + Food 🎷 Bourbon Street: Find a jazz bar to relax! I had a bad experience at Preservation Hall last time (see the previous post for details). Everyone must check the bar reviews in advance and choose one with a good reputation~ 🦐 3 Must-try restaurants nearby (reachable on foot or by the characteristic streetcar): Deanie’s Seafood: Highly recommend crawfish bisque! It's the best seafood bisque I've ever had in the US—so delicious that I wanted to dance. Not many people recommend it on Xiaohongshu, so don't miss it~ Hot N Cajun Boil House: Choose this one if you want to eat seafood boil. It has a large portion and good seasoning, suitable for sharing with a group; Acme Oyster House: A must for oyster lovers! Freshly shucked, it's amazing with lemon juice~ 3. Museum Day (Splittable) 🪖 The National WWII Museum 👍 Suitable for: People who like to savor history and read the stories behind the exhibits. It can take more than 2 hours to visit. The exhibition hall is well-designed with full of details; ⚠️ Not recommended for: Those who only like to glance at weapons casually. They may find it boring and can finish the visit in more than 1 hour. Must-see highlights: Real battlefield scenes and veterans' videos, the immersive experience is very engaging~ 🖼️ New Orleans Museum of Art 🌟 Recommended reason: It has a rich collection of oil paintings and sculptures. Try to go on a sunny day! You can visit the outdoor sculpture exhibition, and the sun shining on the artworks is very impressive; You can go boating in the nearby City Park, combining exhibition visiting and leisure~ ⏰ Duration: 1.5-2 hours, it's very healing to wander slowly~ 🍴 Hidden Food Recommendation: Jacques-Imo's This restaurant is relatively independent and not adjacent to other scenic spots, but the taste is amazing! It's full of local characteristics and ranks among my top 2 favorite restaurants in New Orleans together with Deanie’s. Be sure to arrange time specially to eat here~ #NewOrleans #StudyInUSA #USATravel #TravelAroundTheWorld
