New Orleans Brunch 🥣 | NOLA’s Famous Spot: Bearcat
If you look up food guides for New Orleans, about 70% of the posts will mention this brunch spot — it’s clearly a hit among Chinese tourists! 🧳🇨🇳 The most recommended dishes are the Crab Scramble 🦀 and Lobster Daddy 🦞. I skipped the main restaurant (heard the wait was crazy 😬) and went to their bakery next door instead — so no lobster this time. 🍴 Bearcat Baked 📍 726 Julia St, New Orleans, LA 70130 🧸 Bearclaw A bear claw-shaped croissant filled with almond paste 🥐. The pastry was super flaky and airy — looked huge but didn’t feel heavy. The almond paste was smooth and not too sweet, though it had a pretty strong almond extract flavor. If you like marzipan or almond pastries, you’ll enjoy this! Lighter than your average almond croissant. 🦀 Crab Scramble Let’s be real — there was a ton of crab meat in here! Every bite had real crab chunks 👏. But flavor-wise? A bit bland 😕. Just crab and eggs, not much else going on. The potato cubes on the side were nicely spiced (a little smoky and spicy 🌶️) but sadly overcooked and dry. Not sure if that’s their usual style or just an off day at the bakery. 💡 Verdict: Stick to the pastries or sandwiches at the bakery — they’re the real stars 🌟. If the main restaurant serves similar food, I’m not sure it’s worth a long wait. #NewOrleans #NOLABrunch #BearcatNOLA #BrunchReview #FoodieImpressions #EatLocal #TravelNOLA
