New Orleans Food & Drink Diary

🍤 Hot N Cajun Boil Seafood A place so good I went twice! Ordered a custom combo: crawfish + king crab legs + lobster tail. Just one word — satisfying! 🦀 The king crab legs were $66/lb (two huge legs), packed with meat! Went back the next night for more crawfish — you can choose your spice level 🌶️. If you like heat, go hot! 🦪 Cochon Restaurant Tried their grilled oysters (savory and spicy, just how I like 'em) and alligator meat 🐊. The alligator tasted a bit like chicken — flavorful and not weird at all. Finally got to try it after my cat ate so many alligator treats! 😸 The bread here was also amazing 🥖. 🌟 Luke Visited during happy hour (3–6 PM) — oysters for $1.50 each 🦪. Grilled oysters were good, but I prefer them raw. Their Seafood Gumbo was way too salty though… so salty I forgot to take a pic 😅. 🔥 Mr. Ed’s Oyster Bar & Fish House Came mainly for their three flavors of grilled oysters — all delicious! Definitely recommend trying each one. Also ordered a Creole combo (Jambalaya + crawfish étouffée), but I’m not a big Jambalaya fan, so it was just okay. 🎯 Pêche Seafood Grill A Resy restaurant — perfect if you need to use up Resy credits! Book in advance. Their oysters are pricey but delicious 😋, though even the cheaper ones are great. Since it was my last day and I couldn’t handle more seafood, I just enjoyed $50 worth of oysters. Not a bad way to spend credits! ☕ Coffee & Beignets Cafe du Monde beignets = not overly sweet, like fluffy, sugar-coated donuts 🍩! You can try them at the airport before you leave. Their coffee, though, was pretty bland. Also visited French Truck Coffee — their New Orleans-style coffee was good, but as a Blue Bottle "NOLA" drinker, I wasn’t blown away 😄. Their toast was crazy salty! My favorite spot was Streetcar Cafe — iced latte was smooth and refreshing, and their beignets were top-notch! ❤️ 🎷 Jazz Night Went to Mahogany Jazz Hall — great vibe and solid drinks 🥃🎶. Wanted to visit Preservation Hall but couldn’t snag tickets for a good time slot. #NewOrleans #RestaurantRecommendations #NOLAEats #FoodDiary #TravelNOLA
