A Flavorful Farewell: Our Experience at Hot N Cajun Boil House During Jazz Fest
This past weekend, my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting New Orleans for the highly anticipated Jazz and Heritage Festival. For my husband, it was his first time in this vibrant city, and I was eager to show him the culinary delights that make NOLA a food loverās paradise. Our final day in town led us to Hot N Cajun Boil House, a decision that turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
Initially, we had walked past Hot N Cajun, lured by the promise of another eatery recommended by locals. However, after a long weekend of music and festivities, we decided to switch gears and explore what Hot N Cajun had to offer. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. To our delight, we were seated quickly, even in the private party area, which provided an intimate dining experience.
Our server, Sydney, welcomed us with genuine smiles and infectious charm, setting the tone for a wonderful meal. We kicked off our dining experience with a couple of adult beveragesāthe Crabby Nutcracker and Sweet Peach. Both drinks were refreshing and perfectly crafted, providing the ideal start to our culinary adventure.
For our main courses, my husband opted for the crab cakes and the Grilled Flounder Combo, while I indulged in the Snow Crab Slam with the House Cajun Blend, requested at a mild spice level. The dishes arrived beautifully presented, and we wasted no time digging in. My husband was particularly enamored with the sauce that accompanied his crab cakes, exclaiming that it was so good he had to drizzle some over his flounder as well. The broccoli was seasoned to perfection, and the fried rice was a delightful complement, rounding out his meal beautifully.
As for my Snow Crab Slam, it was a seafood loverās dream. The House Cajun Blend was a standout feature, striking a perfect balance between bold flavors and mouthwatering seasoning. It was anything but bland; instead, it was a tantalizing mix that left me wanting more with each bite.
Adding a special touch to our dining experience, my husband casually mentioned to Sydney that it was his birthday weekend. To our surprise and delight, she returned with a plate of Birthday Beignets! These warm, sugary treats were the perfect sweet ending to our meal, encapsulating the spirit of New Orleans and leaving us with smiles on our faces.
All in all, our visit to Hot N Cajun Boil House was a fantastic way to wrap up our weekend in NOLA. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. We will undoubtedly add Hot N Cajun to our āMust-Goā list for our next visit to this enchanting city. If you find yourself in New Orleans, make sure to stop by and treat yourself to a taste of their culinary magicāyou wonāt regret it!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided to visit this restaurant based on its positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience with the service was disappointing. The server, a tall black male individual with tattoos on his face and a low fade hairstyle, did not meet our expectations. While I typically refrain from leaving reviews, I feel it is important to share this feedback in the hopes that it may help improve future customer experiences.
This sequence of events raised concerns about his professionalism and attention to his responsibilities during his shift.
What was even more concerning, however, was that after we left the restaurant, we realized our credit card had been stolen. We did not notice this until later, when we received a notification from the credit card company about fraudulent activity.
The first transaction occurred at 11:17 PM at Magnolia Wine Company, where a charge of $10.46 was made. The second transaction took place at the Shell gas station at 11:39 PM, totaling $61.00.
We never expected to visit a restaurant only to have our card stolen, especially in an establishment we had patronized in good faith. We even went to the gas station to review the security footage, but they did not allow us to do view the cameras.
We sincerely hope that this establishment takes it upon themselves to conduct an investigation to address this issue and weed out any staff members who may be engaging in such behavior.
Our visit was far from the positive dining experience we had anticipated, and we hope that management takes swift action to ensure future guests receive the service and security...
