New Orleans Food & Drinks Journey – Bites & Sips 🍹🍤

Oceana Grill – Tried the char-grilled oysters and alligator meat 🐊. The oysters smelled amazing but tasted pretty standard — like your average grill spot. I still prefer the raw oysters from the other day 😉. The alligator tasted a lot like chicken — personally, the fried version was better than blackened! Erin Rose – Had the Frozen Irish Coffee ❄️☕ — tasted like a big coffee slushie with barely any alcohol kick. Perfect after 2 hours of walking around the French Quarter! Also tried the mimosa — sharp and tangy, but during happy hour, 2 drinks for $11? Can’t beat that value! 💰 Carousel Bar – Sipped on Vieux Carré and French 007 🎠🍸. The first was STRONG — high-proof rye whiskey, cognac, vermouth, bitters… definitely slowed me down 😵‍💫 The second was a sweet & fruity delight — pear liqueur, pomegranate, and sparkling wine. Light, bright, and highly recommended for light drinkers (or as a starter/finisher for pros!) Fun fact: The carousel seats are super popular! We went at 5:30 PM — packed. Finally snagged a seat at noon on our last day. Saw a tall bartender hop in and out over the counter — guess that’s how they do it! 😆 Café du Monde & Café Beignet – Enjoyed café au lait and beignets at both. The coffee was smooth and lovely at each, and the beignets? Shake off the powdered sugar and you’ve got a delicious, fragrant fried dough 🍩💛 #FoodExploration #InternationalStudentEats #GlobalFoodies #NOLADrinks #NewOrleansFood #TravelNOLA #EatLikeALocal
