New Orleans Travel Notes 2/2 β¨
π₯ Ayu Bakehouse The bread was decent but a bit dry. Tried the kaya bun (coconut) and chocolate babka β coffee was surprisingly good! β ποΈ Audubon Park A full loop takes about an hour. The riverside was lively with noisy ducks π¦, next to a golf course. Police and staff patrolled regularly, and there were plenty of people walking, running, and biking β felt exceptionally safe. π§ Teaplus A bit far out, but the lake-crossing bridge view was beautiful! Their holiday-themed drink decorations were adorable π. The boba was nice, and the taro pork floss cake box was delicious! π Desi Vega's Steakhouse π The garlic butter rolls before the meal were crispy and amazing π₯Ή. The ribeye steak was fantastic β though medium came out closer to well-done, it was well-marbled, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Huge portion β half would fill most people. Skip the BBQ shrimp appetizer (not great). The vibe is more bar-like, so it can be a bit noisy. ποΈ Oak Alley + Swamp Tour Swamp Pride Tour (highly recommended on Xiaohongshu) did not disappoint! A packed 30-minute tour with raccoons, wild boars, alligators, and big birds ππ¦. We even got to pet a baby gator and feed marshmallows to raccoons β so cute!! π¦ͺ Hot N Cajun Boil House Pretty good but salty β shrimp were tasty. π Cochon Butcher Just a regular big burger β AGU folks have probably tried it already. π Horse Carriage Ride near French Quarter Fun ride! About 30+ minutes for $30/person. The guide shared history stories while touring the French Quarter β just donβt sit in the front row (itβs smelly!) π π¦ͺ Big EZ Seafood Already one of the better local spots, but my seaside-raised friend said the crab wasnβt super fresh. Flavor was on the spicy side. #NewOrleans #USATravel #NOLA #StudyAbroadTravel #Raccoons #FoodieFinds #SwampTour
