New Sichuan Restaurant in New York--Chi Restaurant & Bar

🧡 Pyramid's Secret: This is the must-order pagoda meat at every table. The presentation is super stylish and cool, and it's truly delicious. The meat is tender and glutinous, with a well-balanced fat and lean ratio in the pork belly that pairs perfectly with the meat juices, making it an amazing dish to go with rice! The secret inside the pyramid is the preserved plum vegetables, which neutralize the sweetness of the meat, making you want to take a big bite at once. 💙 Harmony of General and Minister: The three small dishes include cold cucumber salad, mouth-watering chicken, and Sichuan pepper duck. This is a must-order for those who have trouble deciding what to order, as it offers three types of satisfaction in one dish. 🧡 Little Spicy Chicken in Love: This dish is worth mentioning! When ordering, I asked the waiter how it compares to the dish with the same name at Chuan Shan Jia, and the waiter confidently said theirs is better. I was skeptical, but after tasting it, I knew the waiter was right! The chicken has a similar spicy and numbing flavor but is more tender and juicier, making you want to keep eating. So, I highly recommend this dish as well. 💙 Grilled Fish: The waiter also recommended this grilled fish, which I personally rate higher than the one at Jiangnan Restaurant. Not only is the fish fresh and killed on the spot, with firm and juicy meat, but the side dishes are also excellent, including grilled potato slices, konjac, tofu, and cabbage. Each has a great texture, and I highly recommend this as well! 🧡 Smashed Eggplant with Chili: Their version of this dish doesn't include preserved egg, which I personally prefer with the egg. It's still quite a good dish to go with rice, but the eggplant is a bit oily, so those who mind might want to be cautious when ordering. 📍Chi Restaurant & Bar 492 9th Ave, New York, NY 10018 #Chi Restaurant & Bar# New York # food diary ### name:Chi Restaurant & Bar address:492 Ninth Ave, New York, NY 10018 type: restruant ###
