New York Midtown Mexican Cuisine | tán
I used to be indifferent about Mexican food, but I realized it was just because I hadn't had the good stuff. 🎢🍃 After visiting Mariscos El Submarino in Greenpoint and the newly opened Cuerno downstairs from my office with friends, I discovered how amazing tacos with ribeye can be. This summer, I’ve been craving Mexican food! 🌮 I tried Casa Enrique in LIC, but it was pretty average. Sitting outside, I even got bitten by mosquitoes. 🦟 🎢🍃 This time, I met up with a friend at a place near her home. The ambiance was delightful, and the plating was beautiful. However, I didn’t realize that they only had a brunch menu at lunchtime, and the more classic dishes were only available on the dinner menu. We found out at the doorstep, but we had no choice but to give it a try. 🥗 The mango-flavored Tuna Ceviche was quite refreshing. The Guacamole had a crispy skin that was too hard, which wasn’t great—it hurt my mouth and didn’t absorb the sauce well. My cheese and beef patty was flavorful (though if the combination of cheese, beef, and pastry were bad, the place should go out of business immediately). My friend, who isn’t a big fan of Mexican food, ordered regular brunch items like eggs. 🥚 🎢🍃 Labor Day Weekend had great weather, and I didn’t have to work. Although I lost badly at pickleball on Friday night and felt pretty down, I bounced back on Sunday. Indeed, any sport heavily depends on your condition—there’s a reason people want to take stimulants before a game. 💪 #NewYorkWeekend #LIC #NYCLife 🌃🌟
