Newport Beach, LA｜Yachts, Sunshine & Stunning Ocean Views ⛵️✨

Newport Beach is located in Orange County, about an hour’s drive from LAX. This beautiful coastal getaway is known as an upscale neighborhood—clear blue skies, white sand, crystal-clear water, luxurious mansions, marinas filled with yachts ⛵️, and some of the highest property prices in the U.S., even surpassing Beverly Hills! 💰 We stayed at the Newport Beach Marriott—serene surroundings, comfortable rooms, and a prime location. Right in front is a shopping center for retail therapy 🛍️, and behind it lies a lush golf course 🏌️. It was our first home base when we moved to LA back in 2014! Across the street is Fashion Island, often called the “most beautiful outdoor mall.” With fountains, palm trees, ponds, and water lilies 🪷, it’s like a resort. Stores include Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, a stylish Tesla showroom, and the famous Cheesecake Factory with its irresistible red velvet cake 🍰… On weekends, locals stroll, chat, walk their dogs, sip coffee, and soak up the sun—a truly relaxed vibe. About 10 miles from the Marriott is South Coast Plaza, Southern California’s largest luxury shopping destination, with Chinese-speaking staff available. On the second floor, the Michelin-starred Din Tai Fung draws huge crowds—highly recommend their xiaolongbao, spicy shrimp wontons, eight-treasure rice, and sweet-and-sour pork ribs. Portions feel even more generous than their Hong Kong branch! 🥟 A few times, friends invited us for sunset dinner cruises 🚤. The sea breeze was gentle, the sky and ocean a pure gem-like blue, and the glimmering water at sunset was simply magical ✨. Yachts dotted the harbor, people waved and laughed from boat to boat, and stunning mansions with private docks lined the coast. During daytime trips, just 1.5 hours offshore, we often spotted blue whales, dolphins, and seals leaping playfully from the water 🐋🐬🦭. Overhead, seagulls soared in groups against a breathtaking seascape. Starry skies, vast oceans, soothing winds, peach-pink sunsets, and distant white sails—these unexpected beautiful moments are all gifts from nature.
