Newport Eats
Today, I squeezed in a quick half-day trip from Boston to Rhode Island—and let me tell you, the highlight of the day was definitely lunch at The Red Parrot Restaurant in Newport! It was so delicious, I’m already daydreaming about going back 😋. We popped in for a late afternoon meal, and from the first bite, my taste buds were doing a happy dance 🕺. The menu was full of seafood temptations, but two dishes stole the show (and my heart!): First up, the lobster salad 🦞. Imagine chunks of sweet, tender lobster—fresh off the coast, I swear—tossed in a light, creamy dressing that’s not too heavy (no mayo overload here!). It was served with crisp, leafy greens and a side of warm crusty bread, and every bite felt bright and fresh—like a little ocean hug in a bowl. They didn’t skimp on the lobster either; every spoonful had a satisfying piece, no tiny scraps! Then there’s the lobster seafood pasta 🍝. This one was a total knockout! Wide, chewy pasta (the good kind that soaks up sauce perfectly) mixed with plump lobster meat, juicy shrimp, and a rich, savory sauce that coated every strand. The portion was massive—we joked we could’ve fed a small group, but we were too obsessed to stop eating 😂. No skimping on the seafood here either—every forkful had a mix of lobster and shrimp, which made it feel extra indulgent. And the cherry on top? It’s not overpriced at all! For the quality and quantity of fresh seafood, the prices are super reasonable—no annoying “tourist spot” markup. Total win-win! This restaurant has already secured a spot on my “Newport Must-Return” list. Next time I’m in town, I’m 100% trying more of their menu—maybe the clam chowder or fried calamari? I can already taste it 🤤! #RhodeIslandFood #NewportEats #SeafoodLovers #BostonDayTrips
