No Need for Disney: Experience a Fairytale Castle 🏰✨
Just a 1.5-hour drive from San Diego, Kimberly Crest House & Garden in Riverside is even better than Disney’s castle for photos! On weekends, it’s surprisingly uncrowded, making it perfect for a princess-like experience. 🌟 Kimberly Crest House & Gardens is a historic French-style chateau. Built in 1897 by a wealthy woman named Cornelia A. Hill, it was originally designed by architect Oliver Perry Dennis in the Victorian style. In 1905, it was purchased by John Alfred Kimberly, a co-founder of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation (now famous for Kleenex tissues). The Kimberly family transformed it into a French Renaissance-style estate. 🏰 In addition to its beautiful blue castle-like architecture, the estate features elegant Italian-style gardens, fountains, sculptures, and a variety of plants. Today, it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places and operates as a museum, showcasing Victorian-era lifestyle and decor. 🌺 🎫 Admission: Free 🅿️ Parking: Free Garden Hours: Open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM Guided Tours: Available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM.
