Noodle & More Review|A Takeout Experience from a Loyal Customer

I heard Panda has "Crazy Thursday" deals lately with many items 50% off, but today we decided to order takeout directly from the restaurant—after all, this little spot we call “Shaanxi Magic Kitchen” has long been our go-to noodle secret. Pushing the door open, the aroma of noodles and braised meats wafted over. The staff were quick, and before long, our order was packed and ready to go. The bags were still warm in my hands. 🍖 Rougamo + Lamb Skewer Combo The scent of the rougamo was irresistible even before we left. The bread was slightly crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy inside—very satisfying. The meat filling was generous, with that deep, slow-braised fragrance, flavorful but not greasy. The lamb skewers weren’t sizzling hot straight off the grill, but the meat remained tender and well-spiced, with a mild gaminess that’s very approachable. 🍝 Liangpi (Cold Skin Noodles) Different from the thin, soft version I grew up with in Shandong, these liangpi are thicker and heartier, with a substantial bite. The sauce was refreshing and tangy in a balanced way, coating each strand well. The portion was generous, though I wish there were more gluten pieces—as a gluten lover, I always crave extra. 🍜 Qishan Saozi Noodles Eric’s must-order. But today’s version seemed a bit different from what we’ve had dining in. Previously, it was served dry-tossed, with a thick, rich sauce clinging tightly to the noodles—intensely fragrant and hearty. This time, it came as a soup version. Still tasty, but the style had shifted. I personally miss the tossed, sauce-heavy original. We spread everything out at home and couldn’t even finish it—the portions are truly substantial. As a long-standing Shaanxi spot in SD, Noodle & More has always offered authentic flavors at reasonable prices. If you catch Panda’s Thursday half-off deal, it’s a steal, but even at regular price, this takeout won’t disappoint. 📍 Noodle & More (Shan Xi Magic Kitchen) 🍜 If you love noodles, this place is worth a detour. #SanDiegoFood #NoodleAndMore #ShaanxiCuisine #TakeoutDiary #Rougamo #Liangpi #SaoziNoodles #LocalRecommendations #UCSD #WhatToEatToday
