Northside Grill, Anna -Romantic Flower House
Ann Arbor’s Scenic Brunch Spot – Pretty Vibe, So-So Food (But Great for Sunbathing!) The weather was surprisingly nice that day, so I wandered around and stumbled on this brunch spot—hooked immediately by the flowers and greenery outside! I thought, “Anyone who keeps a tiny shop this lovely must be someone who loves life… and their food must be good too!” (Okay, fine—I also heard friends rave about it 😂.) (Sadly), the food was just “meh”—but the vibe? Totally makes up for it. 🌸 Vibe: Tiny, Crowded, But So Cozy (Perfect for Sun) The shop is super small—tables are squished close together, but it’s packed for a reason: everyone’s here to eat brunch while soaking up the sun 🌞! The flowers and natural light make it feel like a little garden nook—so relaxing if you just want to zone out and unwind. The only funny (and slightly chaotic) part? Our server was an older guy who was a little gruff—he poured coffee and water so aggressively, the coffee almost spilled over! ☕ But hey, the coffee’s free and refills are unlimited, so I’ll let the “wild pour” slide. 🥘 Food: Only One Decent Dish, Rest Are Bland Let’s be real—the food is the weak link here (it’s probably my least favorite among the brunches I’ve tried in Ann Arbor). But it’s super affordable, so if you’re on a budget, it’s manageable: Mexican-Style Cheese Dish (Photo 2): The only one worth ordering! It’s melted cheese mixed with a salsa-like sauce—sweet, tangy, and a little spicy, perfectly balanced 🌮. They serve it with my favorite sour cream, plus potato cakes and chips. The catch? The potato cakes are so lazy—they taste like they were just quickly heated up, no crisp, no flavor (total missed opportunity 😕). But the cheese-sauce combo is good enough to make this the only “flavorful” dish. Omelet: Bland and dry, 0/10. The cheese inside wasn’t melted (totally ruined the creamy texture I love!), and the egg itself was overcooked—tough, not fluffy at all. I had to dump tons of salt and pepper just to taste something 🧂. Mystery Dish (Forgot the Name): Also boring—no standout flavors, just plain and under-seasoned. Even the bread chunks were rock-hard—chewing them felt like a workout 😅. 💰 Final Verdict: Go for the Sun, Not the Food The food is average at best, but the vibe is unbeatable if you want to relax and soak up nice weather. It’s cheap, so you won’t feel guilty if you only eat half your plate. Will I go back? Probably—next time when I’m craving a lazy morning with sun, not when I’m craving great brunch ✨! #UniversityOfMichiganAnnArbor #AnnArborFood #AnnArbor #Brunch #ScenicEats #AnnArborEats #MichiganFood #CasualBrunch
