Nth Visit to Henry’s Cuisine in LA

Sharing my favorite Cantonese spot in San Gabriel today! For me, whether I return to a restaurant often really depends on quality control and whether their signature dishes stay consistently good over time. This place has almost become my regular canteen because every dish feels like it could be a signature dish! My Frequent Orders 💖💖💖 🦐 Famous Tiger Prawns with Vermicelli Clay Pot — 🌟🌟🌟🌟 So many prawns! Really well done by LA standards, though personally I still think a certain Vancouver spot does it better (you know the one 😉). Deducted one star because the vermicelli was a bit soft for my taste — but if you like that texture, go for it! Still ate three bowls of rice with it — so good! 🥩 Vietnamese-Style Beef Cubes — 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five stars! Perfectly seared outside, tender inside, with just the right balance of savory and a touch of sweetness. This dish really tests a Cantonese kitchen’s skill — hard to replicate at home without high heat. Highly recommend! 🥬 Stir-Fried Lotus Root & Assorted Veggies (“Lotus Pond Moonlight”) — 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My must-order every time! So skillfully cooked — no complaints at all. Feels like a healthy Chinese meal — even veggie skeptics should try this. 🦞 Signature Lobster with “Italian Noodles” — 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Their signature dish — seems like every table orders it. Huge portion (market price, around $200 for 2–3 lbs), delicious no doubt. One star off because… that’s not really Italian pasta, more like instant noodles? 😂 But flavor-wise — incredibly fragrant and tasty. 🥣 Fish Maw & Shrimp Paste with Mustard Greens Clay Pot — 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Excellent! The broth is super rich — veggies, shrimp paste, collagen-rich fish maw, and plenty of soup to enjoy. A regular order for me. 🍲 Pepper Pork Stomach & Chicken Soup — 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 So comforting — the broth is thick and flavorful. My go-to when I’m craving soup. (I don’t usually eat pork stomach, so can’t comment much on that part.) 📍 Henry’s Cuisine 301 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA ❤️❤️ Personally love this place — consistent quality is key, and I hope they keep it up. So many spots decline over time… ⚠️ Note: They automatically add 12% gratuity — you can tip extra, but don’t double tip by accident! Ran out of space — more dishes and lunch menu recommendations in the next post! #LAEats #ChineseFood #LosAngeles #HiddenGem #USA #AmericanFood #CantoneseCuisine
