🌺 Oahu Food Guide: 18 Must-Try Spots
Just wrapped up my trip and compiled all the places I visited — from cozy coffee shops to satisfying local eats. Check out Pages 17 & 18 for my pre-trip food map! 📝 ☕️ Coffee Spots 1️⃣ Honolulu Coffee ⭐️ My most-visited local chain — reliable and convenient. 2️⃣ Kai Coffee Sipping coffee with an ocean breeze? Pure magic 🌊 3️⃣ Kona Coffee Purveyors 🔥 Reportedly the island’s most hyped coffee spot — lines don’t lie! 4️⃣ Ali'i Coffee Co Tried the popular ube latte — a bit mild. Closes early! 5️⃣ Island Brew Coffeehouse Solid 100% Kona coffee, but nothing extraordinary. 🍰 Sweet Treats 1️⃣ Mana Sandwiches ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Japanese fruit sandwiches 🍓 — the bread alone is worth it! 2️⃣ Kulu Kulu ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Japanese-style bakery with desserts that aren’t overly sweet. Their strawberry cake has lovely layers. 3️⃣ Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe A Japanese bakery originally from LA — decent, but not a must-visit. 🥪 Casual Bites 1️⃣ Island Vintage Coffee ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A hyped-but-worth-it spot! Must-tries: taro glaze bagel 💜, papaya yogurt bowl 2️⃣ Liliha Bakery ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A classic Hawaiian cafe — perfect for trying local favorites in one stop. 3️⃣ Onaona Café Unique açaí croffle — worth a try if you’re nearby! 4️⃣ Sunrise Shack Papaya bowl was underripe 😕 5️⃣ Musubi Cafe IYASUME All the spam musubi you could want — great for a quick bite! 🍱 Full Meals 1️⃣ Rokkaku Hamakatsu ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Japanese teishoku (set meals) — the tonkatsu is good (though not Tokyo-level). Great for groups + beautiful tatami seating. 2️⃣ Sushi Murayama $100 omakase with a “less rice” option — solid sushi experience. 3️⃣ Carp Dori Yakitori A cozy izakaya specializing in grilled skewers. 4️⃣ Sato Seafood Poke served with fragrant Japanese sushi rice — delicious, though the fish was cut a bit too fine. 5️⃣ Mitsuwa Food Court 💣 Came because of social media hype… left disappointed. 📌 Coming next: Supermarkets + souvenir guide! 🛍️ #HawaiianFood #OahuEats #HonoluluDining #AlaMoana #WaikikiFoodie
