OC A Chay | A New SG Spot You Should Seriously Avoid 🚫💣

Went to run errands in San Gabriel today and originally planned to eat at a Teochew restaurant, but found it closed. Then I came across a new spot called OC A Chay on (currently not searchable on Google Maps — located at 120 N San Gabriel Blvd). Since we’re big fans of OC & Lau 2 in Westminster, we thought we’d give this new sister(?) location a try. Well… let’s just say it was a regrettable decision. 😤 📋 The Menu (or Lack Thereof) Most items on the menu were crossed out — already a red flag 🚩. We ended up ordering five dishes: whelks, fat snails, mango salad, crab vermicelli pot, and butter oysters. 🔄 What We Got… Whelks & Snails ($24.99 each!) – Tiny portions, tiny snails, and nearly impossible to get out of the shell. Messy and unsatisfying. Mango Salad – The mango was cut thicker than French fries. Not even joking. Crab Vermicelli & Butter Oysters – Let’s not even go there… 🪰 And the Final Straw… Flies. Everywhere. In this “colder” L.A. weather, flies were buzzing around our table nonstop. Totally ruined whatever was left of the mood. We left hungry, annoyed, and without even bothering to pack leftovers — which says a lot. 💸 Still left a standard tip out of respect, but honestly? Save your money and your mood. This place is a hard pass. #OCAChay #SanGabrielEats #LAFoodFail #DoNotRecommend #WorstMealEver #AvoidThisSpot #SGFoodScene #HonestReview #BigRegret
