OC Disney Date Guide π Izakaya with Uni Dishes for ~$50 Per Person
Went to Disneyland with two girlfriends over the weekend and left the park hungry! πΊ Originally wanted OC Lau but it was packed, so we found this highly-rated izakaya next door. Great atmosphere, and the menu had pictures for every dish β super convenient! Even better β the food looked beautiful and tasted amazing. β Negitoro Donburi This place loves using uni β three generous pieces of sweet sea urchin on top, over minced bluefin tuna belly and fresh scallions. The fish and uni were fresh and sweet, balanced with special seaweed to cut the richness β so satisfying but not heavy π Highly recommend! They also have eel and salmon rice bowls. β Uni Scallop / Uni Toro More uni goodness! I donβt usually go for fatty tuna or wagyu, so I preferred the uni scallop sashimi β thick, fresh scallops paired perfectly with sweet uni. My friend who loves fatty tuna said the uni toro was excellent β rich and flavorful. β Seared Sushi Bomb Five kinds of seared nigiri π£ (Salmon / Tuna / Snapper / Halibut / Yellowtail) I always order seared sushi β the light char adds a unique flavor, and each fish was paired with a different sauce. β King Mushroom Steak / Sodduk (Rice Cake Skewers) Lots of small plate options! The grilled king mushrooms were a must-try β so good! Also tried sweet-spicy sausage and rice cake skewers β not a rice cake fan myself, but if you are, youβll love it. β Drinks! You canβt go to an izakaya without a drink πΈ Their Lemon Highball was fantastic β the most lemony highball Iβve had, super easy to drinkβ¦ which led to flushed cheeks halfway through π The food looked just like the menu pics β no surprises! We talked and laughed for nearly 3 hours and didnβt want to leave β already planning our next girlsβ night out (sorry husbands π). #100RestaurantsChallenge #IrvineEats #OCFoodFinds #IrvineFoodSpots #DisneylandLA
