Off to Eat in New Orleans π½οΈπ·
This year's final trip was dedicated to NOLA! π GW Fins was the standout of the trip: The pairing of pork belly and watermelon was surprisingly delightful π. The bluefin tuna tartare looked light but tasted complex and rich. The main course, scalibut, was tender with a sweet aftertaste. π° About $120 per person. π¦ BigEZ β tried both locations: The one near the airport was excellent! The downtown spot fell short in flavor, service, and vibe. The airport location has a happy hour with beer and a wide variety of combo options β perfect after a long flight! π° About $60 per person. π₯ Hot N Cajun Boil House was also delicious: The sausage here was even better, and the seafood was rich and flavorful. π° About $80 per person. π¦ͺ Acme Oyster House β their grilled oysters are a must-try! π Also tried Gus's, Zesty, and others β decent but nothing memorable. Overall, NOLA's food scene impressed! Southern cuisine brought many delightful surprises π. Unfortunately, it wasnβt crawfish season β many places had none. Crawfish lovers, make sure to come in season! πΆ For jazz, avoid Bourbon Street β the only letdown of the trip was not finding a great jazz bar.
