Hmm. 🤔 Today’s tally: 6 treats + 1 thought (spoiler: mixed feelings) 🍰 Sweets x3 Bakalava: The top layer was nice and crispy, but the bottom? Rock-hard. 😬 And the nut bits? Definitely the skimpiest I’ve ever had in baklava—total heartbreak. 💔 It was on the sweeter side, but hey, I could live with that. Pistachio Matcha Honey Cake: I’d been dying to try Russian honey cake forever! 🥹 Bad luck struck, though—plain was sold out, so I settled for pistachio matcha. But where was the matcha? 🥴 And the pistachio? Just a sad sprinkle on top, not the creamy pistachio layer I dreamed of. All I tasted was honey, and that “cream”? So cloying, my mouth felt coated. 😭 The cake itself was super moist… but is that how it’s supposed to be? First time trying, so maybe I’m just confused? 🫠 Fruit Tart: After the honey cake fiasco, I had a bad feeling about this one. And yep, that creamy frosting? Just as heavy as I feared. 💔 Scraped most of it off—thankfully, the crust was decent, and the mango… well, it was there, even if a little overripe. Turmeric Bloom: Turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, and almond milk. Smooth going down, but the flavor was way too weak.
