Ogunquit | Boston to Acadia 3-Day Trip - Day 1

🗺️ Overall Route: Boston → Ogunquit → Portland → Near Acadia 📍 First Stop: Ogunquit 🍣 ISF Trading (in Portland) This is a factory shop specializing in uni (sea urchin). After buying fresh seafood, you can eat it in the staff canteen on the second floor. Unfortunately, it wasn’t local uni season when we visited, but the salmon, sweet shrimp, and Chilean uni were still delicious! I couldn’t help but wonder—could this be where Boston gets its sashimi supplies? 🤔 It’s definitely great value for money—high quality at affordable prices. ⏰ Timeline for the Day We set off at 10 AM from Boston. It took about 1 hour to reach Ogunquit by noon. In the early afternoon, we headed to Portland to enjoy the sashimi feast. By evening, we arrived at our Airbnb near Acadia. 📌 About Ogunquit The name “Ogunquit” comes from the Abenaki dialect (a language of the Algonquian Native American people), and it means “a beautiful place by the sea”—a name that perfectly matches the town’s charm! ⚓️ Marginal Way A coastal cliff trail about 2 kilometers long. If you don’t feel like walking, you can also drive there (just follow the navigation), and you’ll still get to see the most scenic section directly. The trail offers unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean, with waves crashing against the rocks below—truly breathtaking 🌊. 🏖 Ogunquit Beach There are lounge chairs and canopies by the beach, making it perfect for sitting back and relaxing on the shore. Feel the sea breeze, listen to the sound of waves, and soak up the summer sun—ideal for unwinding 🪑. 🎨 Ogunquit Museum of American Art Located right by the sea, this museum houses over 3,000 works of modern and contemporary American art. Outside the museum, there’s a beautiful sculpture garden— the coastal garden and art installations are absolutely stunning. This was easily my favorite spot in Ogunquit 🖼️. 📚 Ogunquit Memorial Library Built in 1897, this is a small stone library in the Revival style. It’s cute and not very big—if you have some extra time, it’s worth a quick visit to admire its historic architecture 📖. #Boston #BostonLife #BostonArea #BostonTravel #Maine #MaineTravel
