Amazing beach. We travel a lot and we compare this one to Mayflower Beach in Cape Cod. Of course, water is cold so ocean water activities are limited, but this is Maine, so not subtracting one star for that. Absolutely bring inflatable for kids or teens to go up and down the river. When tide is going in, the river water is flowing in and kids can ride all the way from mouth of the river at ocean, under bridge, to sand flats, get out in right, then walk through parking lots back. When tide is going our, the flow reverses and they can ride back from last the bridge into the ocean. It’s a lot of fun for them! The beach is HUGE when tide is out. Almost too large haha looooong walk to the ocean, but gorgeous! Be there by 9 AM to find parking. We were on a cool not hot day, Saturday, partly clouded, but Labor Day weekend and we took one of the last 5 remaining spots at 9:20 AM. Beach is wonderful. Bring inflatables for the River. Subtracting one star as it is not possible to get out on main road after you are done with the beach. There are multiple converging roads and no street light. Traffic is at stand still and some have stop sight and others don’t, however, people ignore stop sign because otherwise they will never get out, and that intersection looks like the worst one I have ever seen with all cars in the middle of it congested driving in different directions.

Tubing down the river is one of my favorite actives of all time! Setup in the sand at the end of the Main Beach parking lot, not so much near the main section of the beach. Pay attention to when high tide is and you can expect a fun time floating about 2 hours ahead of that. You can float under the bridge and climb up the rocks behind Ogunquit Beach Lobster House or go further down and walk across the sand and back. At high tide, the water is mostly still and you can float right along the shore in place. I'm always so surprised that I don't see many people tubing anymore as it used to be mostly tubers years ago. The beach has soft, cool sand and although it is small, it is pretty clean. Parking at the Main Beach lot is $35 at the beginning of the day and only accepts cards. Parking is cheaper closer to downtown but if you don't want to walk a half mile with tubes it may be worth it for you. Outdoor showers and bathrooms in the nearby parking lot are clean and look to have been recently redone.

And this town is one of the most LGBTQ-friendly in New England! Whether you’re a senior, a young family, a couple or a newly retired single, everyone who loves the beach will likely love it here. Ogunquit is really well equipped for people with assistive devices and/or mobility needs. Lots of accessible parking. And the parking prices are reasonable given the popularity of the area. Perfect place to sit but the water, walk the beach (for miles!) and just relax. You’ll find that Ogunquit is also fun to walk and shop. Love it here.

Located in Ogunquit Maine, this is a very nice approx. 3.5 mile walk one-way from the main entrance to Wells, Maine. It is a nice, beautiful white sandy beach with fine sand making it excellent for walking or running as it is quite flat and very wide. Very little drop-off which makes it perfect for children. Nice open spaces, sand dunes (off limits), and a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. There are several other access areas, but all are fee-based. Plenty of room for volleyball, throwing a football, playing catch, building sandcastles, dog walking, surfing, and sunbathing. Lots of shells get washed up regularly. Very nice beach.

Been coming here for years, beach is beautiful and very clean. It does get very busy and parking can be difficult but it’s understandable as the beach is awesome. There are two sides, riverside beach and main beach so there is loads of beach to explore! Sealife is also very diverse here! Loads of sea birds, fish, and many shore crabs! It’s an awesome beach to just lounge, fish, swim, paddle board or go herping for sea creatures :). Also when the tide comes in or goes out riding the “Lazy River” on the riverside beach is super fun on a tube or any sort of float!
