One-Day Itinerary for Fukuyama 🌟

In Takamatsu, there’s a 24-hour supermarket and an 18-hour drugstore right across from Ritsurin Park. 🌊 They have everything you need! If you plan to DIY some meals, this is the perfect place to stock up on food. We bought ingredients for sukiyaki, and it turned out to be quite a good deal! 🍲 🌊 The last stop on our JR Pass journey was Fukuyama Castle in Hiroshima Prefecture. With the Shinkansen, getting around is super fast! 🚄 DAY 8: We finally got to sleep in! My husband calculated that Fukuyama Castle is right next to the Shinkansen station, making it super convenient to visit. 🌊 Plus, its location in the middle of the Seto Inland Sea makes it a great spot to explore! 🌊 After getting off at Fukuyama Castle Station, you’ll see the tourist information desk right outside. 🌊 They sell combo tickets for nearby attractions like Tomonoura, which include round-trip transportation. 🌇✨If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend getting these tickets! 🎫 Fukuyama Castle is one of Japan’s 100 famous castles. 🏰 It was originally built in 1619 during the Edo period by the first lord of Fukuyama Domain, Mitsunari Mitsunari. It served as both a military defense and administrative center. 🏰 After the abolition of the feudal system in 1871, Fukuyama Domain was incorporated into Fukuyama Prefecture and later into Hiroshima Prefecture. During World War II, the castle’s keep was destroyed and was reconstructed with reinforced concrete in 1966. 🏰 It now stands as a symbolic building of Fukuyama City. 🏰 Today, Fukuyama Castle functions as a historical museum with four floors. 🏰 There’s even an elevator inside! You can also enjoy immersive experiences like horse riding, archery, and handling firearms. It’s really fun! 🏹 #FukuyamaCastle #HistoricalAdventure #Tokyo 🌇✨
