One-Day Trip to Nara (Part 1)

Tōshōdai-ji Temple, Nara National Museum, and Stationery Shop 🌟 🌿🌟 After having tea, it's just a 5-minute walk to Tōshōdai-ji Temple. 🚶‍♀️ Ticket🎫: With a bus day pass, the group price is 800 yen. Like Yakushi-ji Temple, Tōshōdai-ji is also relatively quiet, with only a few visitors. Founded in the second year of the Tang Dynasty's Qianyuan era (759), the temple's architecture has a cool and serene tone. 🌿🌟 Originally the site of Prince Shinagawa's residence, it was granted to the Chinese Tang Dynasty monk Jianzhen, who built Tōshōdai-ji. It is a Chinese Buddhist Vinaya school temple and the head temple of the Japanese Nanto Ritsu sect (ancestral temple). 🏛️ 🌿🌟 I carefully examined the national treasures inside the Golden Hall. I would recommend reading a book like "Anatomy of Japan's Famous Sites" beforehand, as it can help you better understand the ingenuity behind the construction of Japan's famous buildings. 📚 After finishing the tour of Tōshōdai-ji, I decided to visit the Nara National Museum. 🌿🌟 This is when I had to mention the rural bus schedule. As I walked out and saw a bus leaving, I thought, "Oh no..." That was the 2:12 PM bus, and the next one was at 2:42 PM. We ended up sitting on a tiny wooden bench, only 10 centimeters wide, for half an hour. 🌿🌟 I suggest that those heading back to JR or near Todai-ji download the app and check the bus schedule carefully. #Nara 🌿🌟
