One of Gold Coast Locals' Fave Beaches | Rainbow Bay 🌈

Among Gold Coast's many beaches, Rainbow Bay feels like a hidden gem cherished by locals—more laid-back and full of surprises than the famous Burleigh Heads. I was lucky enough to spot whales breaching and dolphins surfing waves yesterday🐋🐬; that wild, healing vibe instantly washed away all travel fatigue. Nestled on the border of Queensland and New South Wales, it’s like the "southern end" of Gold Coast, which keeps crowds at bay. As someone living in Brisbane without a car, I had to drag myself up early: train to Varsity Lake Station, then bus 760 to Griffith St at Coolangatta East. Two hours of travel, but the moment sea breeze hit with its salty tang, it all felt worth it~ ⭐️ Photo spots are so dense you’ll struggle to choose: Point Danger is a must! The viewing platform overlooks coastlines of both states. Waves crash against rocks, spraying white foam, and on sunny days, the sea shimmers with rainbow-like sparkles—no wonder it’s called Rainbow Bay🌈. Snapper Rocks is a surfer’s secret spot. Curved rocks enclose a calm lagoon; at low tide, you can walk on the rocks as waves swirl around your feet. Every shot looks like a "dancing with the ocean" masterpiece. A few minutes’ walk gets you to the QLD-NSW border marker . Standing with one foot in each state feels like a mini "interstate trip," and the "Welcome to New South Wales" sign has a retro charm perfect for pics. Food options won’t let you down: The fish and chip is a must-try! Crispy golden fish with thick-cut chips, squeezed with lemon—sea flavors explode in your mouth. Even the blue awning outside is photogenic; just stand there with your food for cute shots. The brunch is my hidden gem: avocado toast with runny eggs, iced latte with - shaped latte art. Best part? Everything’s under $20, so students can splurge worry-free🥑. A day here flies by: watch fishing boats return at dawn, munch sandwiches under trees at noon, chase waves in the afternoon, and wait for sunset to paint the sky orange on the rocks. Even the beach busker strums a guitar while seagulls tilt their heads to listen—that slow, relaxed vibe is why locals adore it. #Brisbane #GoldCoast #BrisbaneStudyAbroad #BeachPhotography #TodayAtTheBeach
