One of My Favorite Restaurants in Baltimore!

If you’re looking for something uniquely delicious in Baltimore, you have to try Oasis Uzbek Cuisine! There’s also another spot nearby called Silk Road – both serve amazing Uzbek food, and I alternate between them. But if I had to choose, I slightly prefer Silk Road for its milder and more balanced flavors 😊. 🍽️ What We Ordered & Loved: Shepherd‘s Fried Lamb with Potatoes 🥔🍖 Tender grilled lamb (both ribs and meat chunks) served over a bed of crispy fries – yes, I love fries, no shame! Topped with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and lemon 🍋 to cut the richness. Samsa (Uzbek Meat Pastries) 🥟 Flaky, golden pastry filled with juicy minced meat. Served with a tangy red sauce (like tomato chutney) that balances the richness perfectly. Beef Tongue 👅 A cold appetizer – incredibly tender with no gaminess. Paired with a mild mustard sauce that’s simply addictive! Soups 🍜 We tried several: Lagman: Noodle soup with beef, hearty and flavorful Shurpa: Light Uzbek beef/lamb broth, refreshing and clean Okroshka: Seasonal chilled yogurt-based soup – unusual but tasty! Kebabs 🍢 Beef Tenderloin and Veal Liver Kebabs – grilled to perfection! The liver was surprisingly mild, and the grilled fat in between was pure heaven. Samarkand Plov 🍛 Classic Uzbek rice pilaf with slow-cooked lamb/beef. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, though the rice was a bit firm that day. Still delicious! 💵 Price: Around $46 per person for 5 people – and we ordered A LOT! Left with plenty of leftovers 🥡. ✨ Pro Tip: You can buy frozen samsa to take home and bake yourself! I’m totally trying that next time. If you’re near JHU or exploring Baltimore, both Oasis and Silk Road are absolute must-tries. Perfect for group dinners, adventurous eaters, and anyone craving hearty, flavorful food! #BaltimoreEats #UzbekFood #DMVFood #JHU #FoodieReview #HiddenGems #ComfortFood
