Overhyped Renton Bistro Disappoints 🥸

High expectations led to even greater disappointment… This place didn’t live up to the online buzz 💔 ⚠️ Heard it gets crowded, so we went at 2:30pm on a Wednesday. Still a few tables occupied—clearly popular. But the space is small, dimly lit, and dated, with sticky, hole-marked tables… ambiance didn’t help 🪑 🍽️ What We Ordered: ▪️ Banh Beo 🌮 Rice cakes were way too thick—mostly just doughy texture. Fish sauce was okay, fried onions needed more crisp. Order this first if you try it (menu says 20min wait, took ~15min). ▪️ BBQ Quail 🍗 Glaze was nice, legs were tasty, but thighs were dry. Just average. ▪️ Canh Chua (Vietnamese Sour Soup) 🥘 Leaned sweet, decent amount of veggies. Went fine with rice. ▪️ Bun Rieu 🍜 Broth was bland like water—had to add soy sauce & fish sauce myself. Noodles were plentiful, but flavor was merely “craving-satisfying”… (Missing Bay Area’s Pho Kim Long!) 💸 Two mains + two sides + tip came to $95—prices are reasonable (maybe they saved on decor 😂). Service was friendly, but the food didn’t match the rave reviews. Verdict: With limited Vietnamese options in Seattle, this fills a spot, but not worth a special trip. #SeattleFood #VietnameseFood #Renton #RestaurantReview
