Oxford Food | Who Can Resist the Temptation of Runny Egg Tarts?

I’ve always loved egg tarts since my days back in China—always ordering them at Cantonese dim sum, and bringing whole boxes back from Macau. Since moving to the UK, my kids have been craving good egg tarts, but the supermarket ones just don’t hit the spot 🛒😔. Then today I discovered Santa Nata—a Portuguese tart shop right on Oxford’s pedestrian street, opposite McDonald’s! 🏪🇵🇹 Rumor has it they’re straight from Lisbon. With weekend rain pouring down ☔, it was the perfect day to take the kids inside. The freshly baked tarts were absolutely fragrant—flaky crust and creamy, runny filling. I tried to take a few photos, but the kids couldn’t wait to dig in 😆👶. A few more seconds of waiting and it was almost a mutiny! “No tart? Then trouble!” 🎃 Honestly, these tarts are best enjoyed right there, warm and heavenly. Taking them home would be a crime 😉❤️. We ordered hot chocolate ☕🍫—on a cold, damp evening, it was pure happiness with a tart in hand… I skipped coffee to sleep well, but noticed their La Marzocco machine—so I’ll be back another day for a tart and coffee breakfast! ☀️🧁 #Dessert #FoodReview #ShopExchange #LifeInTheUK #Oxford #Foodie #FoodDiary #SweetTooth #HiddenGem 🍮
