Oysters & Dungeness Crab by the Sea on Portland’s Hwy 101 🦪🦀
During a summer road trip in Portland, we stumbled upon a small, under-the-radar seafood spot right on Highway 101—about a 30-minute drive from Cannon Beach 🚗. It totally exceeded our expectations, and by the end of the trip, we all agreed it was the highlight of our journey ✨! 🏠 Jetty Fishery Nehalem Bay📍 Address: 27550 US-101, Rockaway Beach, OR💰 Average Cost: Around $30 per person (depends on how much you eat) ♦️ OystersIt was my first time having such plump, large oysters in the US! A dozen (12 oysters) cost just $20—can you believe that’s less than $2 per oyster? They were fresh, shucked and cooked to order 🥢. Raised in the cold Pacific waters, their flesh was firm and sweet, with no need for extra seasonings—just a squeeze of lemon made them perfect 🍋. ♦️ Dungeness CrabAt $18 per pound, it was way cheaper than the frozen, pre-cooked ones at Costco—and the taste was worlds apart 🆚. The crab meat was tender and juicy, packed with rich roe. There’s nothing quite like the joy of eating crab that’s just been cooked fresh 🥰. The shop sits right by a bay—on the day we went, the sun was shining, the wind was gentle, and we got to sit outside, enjoying our seafood while taking in the views 🌊. Across the beach, we even spotted seals lounging around—total comfort and relaxation in one spot 😌. 📖 Final ThoughtIf you’re road-tripping along Hwy 101, you can’t miss this place. I highly recommend ordering a dozen oysters + one Dungeness crab—great prices, unbeatable views, and seafood fresh enough to make your taste buds sing! #Portland #PortlandRoadTrip #PortlandFood #Highway101 #WesternUS #OregonTravel #CoastalSeafood #FreshOysters #DungenessCrab
