Peak Season in Croatia Feels Like Accidentally Entering
It's expensive. Prices are as high as (or even higher than) the Netherlands 💸. But what's worse is that everyone in restaurants, supermarkets, and shops seems super unhappy. On multiple occasions, waiters just piled plates and cutlery on our table and said, "Set it yourselves." At a Michelin-recommended restaurant, the seafood wasn't fresh. My friend argued with the owner in Google reviews for three rounds and was called "Asian evil" 😊. Honestly, nothing worked. So here are some hopefully useful tips: 1️⃣ All beaches are rocky—no sand. If you plan to swim, bring sturdy water shoes. 2️⃣ Some beaches have sea urchins in the water—always check the warning signs! 3️⃣ If driving, research affordable parking lots. Some charge €10/hour, while one nearby might be only €2.5. 4️⃣ To visit the Blue Cave, you must book a 5-island tour. In peak season, all vendors charge a fixed €130-140 (depending on the boat), plus a €24 cave entrance fee. The tour is very long, but most time is spent on the boat. 5️⃣ Split has no hotpot restaurants, and Chinese food options are extremely limited. That's all for now—will add more if I think of anything else! 🫠 #Croatia #TravelTips #PeakSeasonProblems #Split #BlueCave #Dubrovnik #TravelReality 🌊
